Rhipsalis – Sulcata

Rhipsalis Sulcata

Rhipsalis Sulcata is a beautiful and unusual epiphytic cactus, admired for its slender, elongated green stems and distinctive lightly ribbed appearance. The stems branch naturally and can develop a graceful upright-to-trailing habit, creating an attractive and elegant specimen as the plant matures.

The stems are subtly angled and grooved, giving Rhipsalis Sulcata its unique texture and character. As the branches lengthen, they gradually arch and become pendulous, making this Rhipsalis an excellent choice for hanging baskets or raised containers where its natural cascading growth can be appreciated.

Delicate white to pale-pink, star-shaped flowers appear along the sides of the stems. These charming blooms provide a lovely contrast against the green growth and may be followed by small, rounded pale fruits.

Rhipsalis Sulcata enjoys bright, filtered light or partial shade and a well-drained growing medium. As an epiphytic cactus from the humid forests of Brazil, it appreciates humidity and regular moderate watering during active growth, while good drainage is essential to keep the roots healthy.

A wonderful addition to any Rhipsalis collection, Rhipsalis Sulcata combines unusual ribbed stems, graceful branching growth and delicate flowers, making it a charming choice for collectors and plant lovers alike.
