Rhipsalis – Spiral

Rhipsalis Spiral

Rhipsalis Spiral is a fascinating and unusual epiphytic cactus, admired for its distinctive twisting, spiral-shaped stems. The unusual corkscrew growth gives this plant a wonderfully sculptural appearance, making it a real standout among Rhipsalis varieties.

As the plant matures, the spiralling stems become increasingly long and pendulous, creating a graceful cascading display. This makes Rhipsalis Spiral an excellent choice for hanging baskets or raised containers, where the unusual twisting growth can be fully appreciated.

The fresh green stems can develop attractive reddish or bronze tones when grown in brighter light, adding even more colour and interest to this unique plant. Small, delicate flowers may appear along the stems, followed by small fruits, adding seasonal interest to an already fascinating specimen.

Rhipsalis Spiral prefers bright, filtered or indirect light and a well-drained growing medium. As an epiphytic cactus, it appreciates moderate humidity and regular watering during active growth, while good drainage is essential to prevent the roots from remaining wet.

A truly eye-catching addition to any Rhipsalis collection, Rhipsalis Spiral combines unusual corkscrew stems, graceful trailing growth and beautiful natural colour changes, making it a wonderful choice for collectors and plant lovers alike.
