Rhipsalis – Elliptica

Rhipsalis Elliptica

Rhipsalis Elliptica is a beautiful and unusual epiphytic cactus, admired for its broad, flattened, elliptical green stems. The attractive leaf-like segments have softly scalloped edges and create a unique, elegant appearance that sets this Rhipsalis apart from the finer, trailing varieties.

As the plant matures, its branching stems become gracefully pendulous, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets or raised containers where the beautiful cascading growth can be fully appreciated. The stems can develop attractive reddish to purple tones when exposed to brighter light, adding even more interest to the plant.

Delicate flowers appear along the edges of the flattened segments, ranging from pale yellow to white. These charming blooms may be followed by small pink to reddish fruits, providing an additional seasonal display.

Rhipsalis Elliptica enjoys bright, filtered light or partial shade and a well-drained growing medium. As an epiphytic cactus, it appreciates regular moisture during active growth but should never be left sitting in water.

A truly special addition to any plant collection, Rhipsalis Elliptica brings beautiful texture, graceful cascading growth and a touch of tropical elegance to your home or garden.
